sakara meals + a special discount for you!

sakara is a completely plant-based + organic company that supplies the most nourishing meals & products to truly live the glow life. i’m here to show you what 3 days of meals looks like + how you can save 20% off your first order!

(And PS - If you haven’t read about why I love + partnered with Sakara yet, then head here!)

LIFE CAN BE VERY BUSY… AM I RIGHT?!

Which is how I was feeling even in the meal department, although I love to cook + get creative in my kitchen. I needed a little refresh (if you will), which is when I started eyeing up Sakara’s meals.

I have been using their other products for a while (mainly their wellness products—check out my faves here), but I had yet to dive into their meal delivery service because:

  1. I didn’t feel it was fair to treat myself to it and not my family (classic #momguilt, right?)

  2. I didn’t feel worthy of spending this money on myself when I knew I could make perfectly good plant-based meals at home PLUS feed the whole family (but good news! I have that sweet discount to offer you as you dive into Sakara!)

So you know what you do? You bury those feelings deep down inside and DO IT anyway! 😂

WHAT’S THE SCOOP ON THE SAKARA MEAL DELIVERY SERVICE?

You have the option to choose 2-, 3- or 5-day meal deliveries with options of all 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) or lower it to 2 meals/day (you choose what you sub in/out). You also have the option to do it as a one-time order or subscribe, which will save you money + free shipping.

You receive your meals with a sample of detox tea PLUS either supplements (choose between probiotics or beauty water drops & detox water drops samplers) OR one of their amazing metabolism bars. And the best part… SUPPORT (they legit email you and check in to make sure you’re doing ok!).

The meals are all organic, plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO, and no refined sugar.

With your first ever delivery they provide you with the cutest satchel that contains all the info on the service, one of their bars, a portable insulated lunch bag, and Palo Santo. To me, this is the cutest touch ever and love how thought out everything is!

MY THOUGHTS/CONCERNS BEFORE WE DIVE IN:

I still breastfeed my son a bit + I’m working out 4-5 days a week, so I was concerned that the meals wouldn’t fill me. Plus, I’m used to eating a TON at dinner time, and judging by the sizes of the containers, I was slightly concerned at how it would go, BUT was very open to trying it out and seeing.

They also give you snack ideas in your welcome guide, so I knew that if I needed more food than the service provided, they had you covered. I wanted to lead with that in case hunger is a concern of yours, too!

Now let me show you what my meals were for the 3 days I did + how I rated them!

3 DAYS OF SAKARA MEALS

I did the 3-day meal delivery but it’s a little bit different than consuming just three standard days in a row. You get your delivery on Tuesday afternoon then you start that night, so the plan looks like this:

  • Tuesday: dinner

  • Wednesday: breakfast, lunch & dinner

  • Thursday: breakfast, lunch & dinner

  • Friday: breakfast & lunch

I definitely appreciate how they considered Friday being the start of the weekend and how people might want the option to eat out / not eat as ‘clean.’ (But let’s be honest… I totally would eat and LOVE Sakara as a Friday night meal 😆 )

TUESDAY:

I kind of messed up the order of things and ate my Friday lunch here by accident. I was so excited to follow what I thought was the meal plan (according to the Sakara app), but I didn’t realize that the meals vary by where you’re located (I’m in Orlando, FL area), so what I was looking at as Tuesday dinner was actually not for my area. As a result, I adapted the order a little bit! And to be clear, they actually make it very clear on the package of when you eat the meal, but I somehow missed that the first day—so hopefully you learn from my mistakes OR you just order the meals however you want because you don’t need to stick to their order either.

Dinner: SPICED SUNSET STEW W/ COCONUT-LIME CHICKPEAS

This was SO spot on! My only concern was that I wouldn’t feel full after this. I’m used to eating a large amount for dinner, so this was a good test to see if I really needed that much to eat.

VERDICT: Flavours were amazing. Loved the broth with the chickpeas (and so did my toddler, so much that he probably ate half of it! 😂), it filled me up moderately, but I ate a few extra sweet potatoes that I prepped for my fam that night (probably because I did workout this day)!

WEDNESDAY:

Breakfast: SEASONAL FRUIT CRUMBLE - BILBERRY EXTRACT + CHIA SEEDS + HEMP + ALMONDS

It’s funny how you get into new routines; one of mine is not eating very heavy in the morns / doing high fruit, so when I ordered Sakara, I knew I had to buckle down and enjoy breakfasts again.

VERDICT: This was delicious. Just enough to not make me feel too stuffed. I heated it up briefly in the oven because I thought I would enjoy it better warm, which I did.

Lunch: SEXIEST SALAD IN NYC - SEASONAL BERRIES, CHICKPEAS, SLICED ALMONDS, CINNAMON-DIJON DRESSING

This was meant to be Tuesday night’s dinner and decided to swap it in for lunch today just so it wasn’t sitting any longer. I’m kind of happy I messed this one up because I don’t think there’s anyway I could have just had a salad for dinner, but for lunch it was perfect.

VERDICT: Loved the dressing SO much. The assortment of fruit and micro herbs on it were great too. My only complaint (and it’s my fault) is that I had chickpeas last night for din and then again today for lunch. If I hadn’t messed up the meals, I wouldn’t have had chickpeas back-to-back!

Dinner: THE SIGNATURE BURGER WITH BLEU “CHEEZE”, KETCHUP & ROOT VEGGIES

I was SO happy to be eating this for dinner. Especially since I ordered take-out veggie burgs for my hubby from a place we normally order from, so we basically were eating sister meals😉

VERDICT: Loved the patty. It stayed together really well. Was nice to have the “cheeze” for it + the big salad, parsnips fries (I LOVE parsnips so a BIG win over here) & the ketchup to ago along with it. As you can tell, my toddler was all over my meal again tonight!😆

THURSDAY:

breakfast: BLACK FOREST BREAKFAST - DARK CHOCOLATE WALNUT SCONE W/ A CHERRY SAUCE

Another delicious ‘treat’ for breakfast.

VERDICT: Perfect amount of sauce to muffin proportion and what I love about the breakfasts is that they normally would be filled with crappy ingredients (in a conventional setting), but these are so quality and you know you’re actually eating something really good for you!

lunch: HYDRATING JICAMA SALAD - TOPPED WITH “FETA” & SERVED W/ SPICED CARROT SWIRLS

Can I just saw how thankful I am that Sakara includes SO many raw greens in their meals. It’s definitely something I strive to eat more of, but if I’m being honest, just get lazy to prepare myself.

VERDICT: This salad was perfect—especially as a lunch + with the carrot swirls (I heated them up & they were perfect consistency). My daughter loved the swirls. It’s like a cinnamon bun, but the lunch version. Salad dressing was on point, as always, and just loved the variety in the salad!

dinner: AYURVEDIC CARROT SOUP - CARROT-PARSNIP SOUP PAIRED W/ SEED CRACKERS + TAHINI DIP

Now that I was finally getting more accustomed to the size of Sakara meals, this one hit the spot even though it was lighter + I even “upped” it by adding spinach to the soup (as it didn’t come with it) + I heated it up to eat.

VERDICT: Flavour was awesome; had a nice kick to it! Crackers were a nice addition too just to add more ‘bulk’ to the meal, but wasn’t crazy about the dipping sauce. (It was just tahini + tamari + water.)

FRIDAY:

breakfast: SAKARA GLOW GRANOLA W/ PINK SILK MYLK

I’m so glad this was my last breakfast. It was such an awesome one to end on.

VERDICT: It was delish & loved getting to use a different milk than I’m used to! I also loved that the milk had sesame seeds in it too. They just think of the neatest ingredients to add into their meals. The granola was nice and the perfect fullness for me.

lunch: LA DOLCE VITA SUNCHOKE PASTA - BROWN RICE FARFALLE, ROASTED GARLIC, SEASONAL VEGGIES

It was sad to come to my final meal, but it ended on a bang!

VERDICT: Super filling, amazing flavours, great dressing + loved the plant diversity.

OVERALL:

I just love Sakara so much that it’s no surprise that I loved the meals they offer, as well. Everything was so tasty and the variety they use is just amazing. I am pretty well versed in my kitchen and strive to eat a ton of different plants each week, but here’s what I especially loved about Sakara meals:

  • incorporating more raw greens than I currently eat

  • have very unique & inspiring dishes

  • hit the (flavour) nail on the head!

  • make it so easy to eat whenever, wherever (no meal has to be warmed up—you can choose to, but it can be eaten cold making it perfect for all situations)

I hope you enjoyed this walk through of the meals. The great part is they switch up the meals on a weekly basis, so you might not get any of these meals I mentioned for a long time (or ever) + you won’t get bored of the same things!
